Marie Mävers (born February 13, 1991 in Hamburg ) is a German hockey player .

Mävers was active in youth teams for the German Hockey Association for the first time in 2009 and immediately came second at the U18 European Championships. On May 11, 2010, the striker made her debut in the German national hockey team , in 2011 and 2012 she took part in the Champions Trophy , in which the German team took fourth place in 2012. In 2013 she became European champion with the national team in Holland. Mävers won the German field hockey team in 2009, 2015 and 2016 with her team from UHC and in 2014 also the indoor title. Her greatest triumph so far was winning the bronze medal at her second Olympic Games in Rio .

For this success, she and her team were honored with the Silver Laurel Leaf on November 1, 2016 .

Mävers has played 192 international matches and scored a total of 50 goals (all field). (As of August 19, 2016)

She started at the Rahlstedter hockey and tennis club and later switched to Uhlenhorster HC , with which she became German champion in 2009 and 2011. Mävers is a master's student in information, media and library at the HAW Hamburg . In 2016 she completed her bachelor's degree in cultural studies at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg .
