Tell Me You Love Me is an American television series , which in 2007 by the Pay TV transmitter HBO produced and broadcast. The main roles included Sonya Walger , Jane Alexander and Adam Scott . The German version was broadcast by TNT Serie in 2009.
action
The series portrays the everyday lives of three couples between the ages of 20 and 40 who are in different phases of their relationship. The couples don't know each other; What connects them is that they all go (often individually) to the same relationship therapist, the much older Dr. May Foster. In some places her relationship problems with her partner Arthur also play a role.
The oldest of the three couples are Katie and Dave. Married for twelve years with two children, her sexual problems are plain to see. They have an unerotic relationship, from which Katie in particular suffers. With the next younger couple, Carolyn and Palek, the relationship is defined through sexuality. The conflict arises from Carolyn's one-sided desire for a child. The youngest couple are Jaime and Hugo, who maneuver between sex and bonding. This relationship is shaped and doomed to fail by personal injuries and the desire to change the partner.
Structure of the episodes
Each episode begins without an introduction or summary of previous events. There is also no intro or names of the actors, only the title of the series and the team are listed in the credits. The camera work is reminiscent of a documentary, which adds a strong realism to the series. In addition, no episode includes a soundtrack. Only in the last few minutes does a song start, which merges into the credits, which begins with the title Tell Me You Love Me .
The revealing representation of sexual acts and genital organs caused criticism. So you can see - similar to the feature film Ken Park - how Carolyn stimulates her husband's penis and makes him ejaculate .
Cast and dubbing
The German dubbing was based on a dubbing book and directed by Karin Lehmann by the dubbing company TV + Synchron in Berlin .

reception
The first episode was broadcast on September 9, 2007 on HBO and had 910,000 viewers. However, viewership increased within the next month and it was later to hear over 3 million viewers.
In October 2007, a second season was ordered as the series was able to attract both viewers and critics positively. Nine months later, however, the series creator and producer Cynthia Mort confirmed that the relationship drama would not continue into a second season. She reasoned that those in charge of the series were unable to find a direction for the second season.
