Daniel Ronald "Ronny" Cox (born July 23, 1938 in Cloudcroft , New Mexico ) is an American actor and singer .

Life and accomplishments

His first film was the three Academy Award-nominated thriller Everyone's First To Die (1972), in which he starred alongside Jon Voight , Burt Reynolds and Ned Beatty . From 1974 to 1975 he played the lead role in the television series Apple's Way . In the drama The Cadets of Bunker Hill (1981) he played the role of Colonel Kerby , the National Guard commander who ended the Cadet uprising led by Brian Moreland ( Timothy Hutton ) and David Shawn ( Tom Cruise ).

In the action comedies Beverly Hills Cop (1984) and Beverly Hills Cop II (1987) he played the role of the boss of William Rosewood ( Judge Reinhold ) and John Taggart ( John Ashton ), Andrew Bogomil . Director Paul Verhoeven cast Cox as villains in his science fiction films RoboCop (1987) and Total Recall (1990). In 1992 he took on the role of Captain Edward Jellico in two episodes of the television series Starship Enterprise: The Next Century .

In the thriller Murder in the White House (1997) he appeared alongside Wesley Snipes and Alan Alda , in the comedy On the Stormy Way (1999) alongside Ben Affleck and Sandra Bullock .

In the science fiction series Stargate - Command SG-1 , he played the recurring role of Senator Robert Kinsey .

Cox married Mary Cox in 1960, with whom he has two children. His wife died on December 18, 2006 after a brief, serious illness.
