Al Shean
Al Shean , born Abraham Elieser Albert Schönberg , (born May 12, 1868 in Dornum , East Friesland , † August 12, 1949 in New York City ) was a German - American comedian and actor .
Life
Al Shean was the son of Fanny and Levi or Louis Schönberg; his sister was Minnie Marx , the mother of the Marx Brothers . With his help, the five brothers got into show business. After making a name for himself in vaudeville theater, he formed the duo Gallagher & Shean with Edward Gallagher . Although they were very successful together, there was not much sympathy between the two actors. After Gallagher's death in 1929, Shean starred as a comic supporting actor in many Hollywood films in the 1930s and 1940s.
