Julie Marion Depardieu (* 18th June 1973 in Paris , France ) is a French actress .
Life
Julie Depardieu is the daughter of French actor Gérard Depardieu and his ex-wife, actress Élisabeth Guignot . Her brother, who was two years older than him, was the actor Guillaume Depardieu, who died in 2008 . She studied philosophy before making her film debut alongside her father in Yves Angelo's historical drama The Resurrection of Colonel Chabert in 1994. She then appeared regularly in film and television productions and worked repeatedly with director Josée Dayan . Depardieu had her first success in 1998 with the lead role in Danièle Dubroux 's love drama King, Lady, Bube , in which she played the young Séréna, who is stranded in the French provinces and has thoughts of marriage. This was followed by engagements in Cédric Klapisch's science fiction film Peut-être (1999), Laetitia Masson's drama Love Me (2000) and Pascale Bailly's love comedy Unbelievable! (2001), in which Jean-Paul Belmondo , Emmanuelle Devos , Romain Duris , Sandrine Kiberlain and Audrey Tautou were her film partners.
She had her breakthrough as an actress in 2003 with the part of Jeanne-Marie in Claude Miller's romantic drama Die kleine Lili . The modern version of Anton Chekhov's play Die Möwe won her the most important French film award , the César , in the categories Best Supporting Actress and Young Actress in 2004 . One of the trophies was presented by her father, Gérard Depardieu. A year later she was able to build on this success with Yann Moix 's comedy Podium . In it she played the annoyed wife of Benoît Poelvoorde , who has to choose between a career as a singing double and his family. Depardieu also appeared in Jean-Pierre Jeunet's multiple Oscar- nominated anti-war film Mathilde - A Great Love and André Téchiné's AIDS drama We Were Witnesses . In 2007, Brett Ratner's action comedy Rush Hour 3 made her debut in English-language cinema, before she received a second César for Best Supporting Actress in 2008 for Claude Miller's Un Secret .
Since 2003 Depardieu, who is passionate about gardening and the music of the composer Jean-Philippe Rameau in addition to acting, has been in a relationship with the violin virtuoso Laurent Korcia , who is known in France and is nine years his senior . She has been in a relationship with Philippe Katerine since 2009 , with whom she has two sons born in 2011 and 2012.
