Danièle Dubroux [ daˈnjɛl dyˈbʀu ] (born September 4, 1947 in Paris ) is a French director , actress and screenwriter .

Life

Danièle Dubroux studied literature at the University of Paris VIII in Vincennes . From 1975 she worked for the film magazine Cahiers du cinéma . Together with two colleagues from a local group of film enthusiasts, she directed her first work L'Olivier in 1976 , a documentary about the Middle East conflict . She shot her first own film, the short film Les deux élèves préférés , in 1978. She also taught film studies at the university.

Dubroux's first full-length feature film was made in 1984 with the film Les amants terribles, shot in Italy . After finishing her writing for the Cahiers du cinéma in 1985, she directed further feature films in the following years. Her comedy Diary of the Seducer gained international attention in 1996 , in which she again appeared as an actress alongside Chiara Mastroianni , Melvil Poupaud and Mathieu Amalric . She continued this turn to comedy until her last feature film, Éros thérapie .
