Thomas Hörbiger , also Thommy or Tommy Hörbiger (born July 11, 1931 in Berlin ; † May 24, 2011 in Munich ) was an Austrian actor and lyricist.

Life

Thomas Hörbiger was the son of the actor Paul Hörbiger and his wife Josepha "Pippa" born. Gettke . As the only one of Paul Hörbiger's children, he followed in their father's footsteps and became an actor. Thomas Hörbiger took part in numerous films, played theater with his father and went on tour with the play street music . However, he did not use his father as his yardstick , but his friend Joachim Fuchsberger , and since he was unable to match his popularity in terms of popularity, he withdrew from acting.

Afterwards Hörbiger worked as a lyricist for Udo Jürgens , for whom he wrote the hits Seventeen Years, Blondes Haar , Merci, Chérie , Always again the sun rises .

From 1959 Hörbiger founded discotheques in St. Annahof ( Vienna ), Innsbruck and Munich , which became popular meeting places for the chic , and was the owner of a Heurigen bar in Munich-Schwabing . He ran these establishments until the 1980s and then opened a hotel in Augsburg with his wife Gaby . Hörbiger was the father of the actress Mavie Hörbiger and the set designer Hans Hörbiger (* 1988).
