It was Udo Juergens' third participation in the Eurovision Song Contest in a row, after he won in 1964 with Why only, why? took sixth place and in 1965 with Tell her, I let her say hello, took fourth place. In June 1966 the song reached number 36 in the British singles chart in the English version, which was arranged by Baker Cavendish and Johnny Anthey and interpreted by Vince Hill .
