Katie Cassidy Rodgers (* 25. November 1986 in Los Angeles , California as Katherine Evelyn Anita Cassidy ) is an American actress and singer .
life and career
Katie Cassidy is a daughter of singer David Cassidy and model Sherry Benedon . She grew up in Calabasas , California, where she graduated from Calabasas High School and currently lives. As a teenager, she took acting, singing and dancing classes. She sang the cover version of her father's song I Think I Love You , which was produced by Artemis Records .
As an actress, Cassidy appeared in some of the 2005 episodes of the television series A Heavenly Family and in the hit series Supernatural on the side of Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles . She played in the horror film Unknown Caller (2006) the role of Tiffany , a friend of Jill Johnson , who was played by Camilla Belle . In the comedy Klick (2006), she was seen at the side of Adam Sandler , Kate Beckinsale and Christopher Walken . In Walk the Talk she played one of the bigger roles alongside Illeana Douglas and took on one of the leading roles in the comedy You Are Here . Since 2006 she has established herself in the role of victim in horror films, for example Cassidy played in the remakes Black Christmas , A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Scribbler .
In the 2009 spin-off from Melrose Place , Cassidy starred as Ella Simms . The series was discontinued after a season. Cassidy starred in the fourth season of Gossip Girl in 2010 with a recurring guest role as Juliet Sharp , who fell in love with Nate Archibald ( Chace Crawford ). In the same year she was seen in the films A Nightmare on Elm Street and Fencewalker . In 2011 she starred alongside Selena Gomez and Leighton Meester in Suddenly Star and had a guest appearance on the Fox series New Girl .
In mid-February 2012, she received the lead female role of Laurel Lance in The-CW - action series Arrow , which has been broadcast on the station since autumn 2012.
