Maximiliane Bleibtreu ( August 1, 1870 in Preßburg - April 18, 1923 in Dresden ) was an Austrian theater actress .

Life

The daughter of the actor Sigmund Bleibtreu was trained at the conservatory in Vienna and first stepped onto the stage in 1890 in the Theater an der Wien , where she played roles like "Marie" in Müller and his child , "Everl" in Räuscherl , "Carina" in Ritouche etc. . attracted attention and stayed until 1892. Then she came to St. Pölten (1893), Linz (1894), again St. Pölten (1896), Innsbruck (1897) and in 1898 joined the Association of Municipal Theaters in Graz, where she played the role of lover in a farce debuted and stayed until 1902. In this engagement she found the transition to her actual subject. She played female character roles with distinction, and as a conversation actress she took a very first position in the Graz drama ensemble.

In 1903 she was engaged at the Royal Court Theater Dresden, in 1908 at the Court Theater Wiesbaden.

She was married from 1902 to the director of the Viennese court theater Eduard Mebus .

Her son Renato Attilio Bleibtreu became a writer, her granddaughters Renate Bleibtreu and Monica Bleibtreu and her great-grandson Moritz Bleibtreu also all became actors.
