Cameron Morrell Douglas (born December 13, 1978 in Santa Barbara , California ) is an American actor .

family

Douglas is a son of actor and film producer Michael Douglas and Diandra Morrell Douglas and a grandson of actor Kirk Douglas and actress Diana Dill .

Artistic career

The most important milestones in Douglas' career so far are the films Mr. Nice Guy (1997), It Stays in the Family (2003), National Lampoon's Adam & Eve (directed by Jeff Kanew , 2005) and Loaded (2008). In It stays in the family he plays with his father and with his grandparents Kirk Douglas and Diana Dill.

Drug scandal

Douglas has been arrested at least twice on drugs. In 2007, he was charged with illegal possession of a narcotic drug after police officers found a syringe of liquid cocaine in a car he was in . On July 28, 2009, he was arrested by the anti-narcotics agency for possession of 230 grams of methamphetamine . He was charged with attempting to pass it on because of the large amount of the drug seized.

On January 27, 2010, Douglas pleaded guilty to being involved in drug diffusion and possession of heroin after his girlfriend tried to deliver heroin to him in an electric toothbrush while he was under house arrest. On April 20, 2010, Douglas was sentenced to five years in prison. On December 22, 2011, he was sentenced from five years to ten years in prison for repeatedly trying to get drugs in prison. He even asked his lawyer to smuggle drugs into prison for him. In July 2016, he was released from prison after nearly seven years in prison.
