Diana Love Dill (* 22. January 1923 in Devonshire Parish , Bermuda ; † 3. July 2015 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actress , through marriages, the names Diana Douglas , Diana Douglas Darrid and Diana Douglas Webster contributed .

Life

Diana Dill was born in Bermuda, where her father, Thomas Melville Dill, was an MP, Attorney General and Commander of the Bermuda Militia Artillery (now part of the Bermuda Regiment ).

Diana Dill had her first brief film appearance in 1942 in George Cukor's film Guardian of the Flame alongside Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn . Initially, however, she was restricted to smaller roles. Larger roles then followed from the late 1940s, including in John Sturges ' The Sign of the Ram or Joseph L. Mankiewicz's blood hostility . She played her first leading role in 1952 in Andrew Martons Storm Over Tibet alongside Rex Reason . Since the mid-1950s, Dill was mainly active in the television sector. She had guest appearances in series such as Merciless City , Flipper , Kung Fu , Cannon , Zeit der Sehnsucht , The Waltons , Under the California Sun , CHiPs , Remington Steele , Cagney & Lacey , Dallas or The Denver Clan and The Streets of San Francisco . She played her last role in 2008 in the television series Emergency Room . Her filmography includes more than 75 film and television productions.

Dill was married from 1943 to 1951 in his first marriage to Kirk Douglas , whom she met while studying acting. The two sons Michael Douglas and Joel Douglas emerged from the marriage. Together with Kirk, Michael and their grandson Cameron Douglas , Dill shot the film It stays in the family in 2003 . From 1956 she was married to Bill Darrid until his death in 1992. In 2002 she married Donald Albert Webster for the third time. She died on July 3, 2015 at the age of 92 from complications from cancer.
