Rex Reason

Rex Reason (born November 30, 1928 in Berlin , Germany , † November 19, 2015 in Walnut , California ) was an American actor .

Life

Reason was born in Berlin while his parents were on a trip to Europe. He grew up in Los Angeles and attended high school in Glendale . After finishing school, he enlisted in the United States Army . From 1948 he played theater in Pasadena and made his feature film debut in 1952 with a leading role in Storm over Tibet . After two years as a contract actor with Columbia Pictures , he moved to Universal Pictures , for which he made two films under the stage name Bart Roberts .

In the mid-1950s he starred in some of the B-movie genre Metaluna IV Doesn't Answer and The Monster Is Among Us . In 1957 he played alongside Clark Gable , Yvonne De Carlo and Sidney Poitier in Hamisch, the slave trader and subsequently had the leading role in two black-and-white B- Westerns . Between 1957 and 1959 he played the lead role in the western series The Man Without a Colt , after which he played guest roles in other series such as Bronco , 77 Sunset Strip and Perry Mason . From 1960 until they were discontinued in 1961, he played in 28 episodes of the series The Roaring 20’s , after which he retired from show business and worked as a real estate agent .

His younger brother was the actor Rhodes Reason (1930-2014).
