Gustaf Caspar Orm Skarsgård (born November 12, 1980 in Södermalm , Stockholm ) is a Swedish actor and belongs to the Swedish actor family Skarsgård .

Life

Gustaf Caspar Orm Skarsgård was born as the second eldest son of the Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård and his former wife My. Stellan's friend, the actor Peter Stormare , became Gustav's godfather. In addition to his father, his older brother Alexander (* 1976) and his younger brothers Bill (* 1990) and Valter (* 1995) are actors. After attending the Teaterhögskolan in Stockholm from 1999 to 2003 , he joined the Dramaten , the society for theater actors. He played in several works by Shakespeare , Chekhov and Söderberg at different theaters in Stockholm.

In 1989, at the age of nine, he played the son of his father's character in the Swedish thriller Coq Rouge . After graduating from drama school, he pushed his film career. With Faustrecht and Patrik 1.5 he received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor and Best Lead Actor at the Swedish Guldbagge Film Award . For his role as the singing teacher Johan in the Swedish family film Förortsungar , he was named best actor.

It was almost 20 years before he played again with his father in Arn - Der Kreuzritter and Arn - Riket vid vägens slut , whereby he found that his acting style developed independently and was very similar to that of his father. He was particularly well known for the role of Floki from the Vikings series , which he has played since 2013. In 2018 he took on a leading role in the HBO series Westworld with the beginning of the second season as Karl Strand .

Skarsgård works for the Palestinian Autonomous Areas and the Gaza Strip .
