action

The mother of the twelve-year-old Selma died when she was born. Because of her chaotic family, Selma considers relationships to be a dangerous nuisance that she doesn't want to have anything to do with. Her friends don't want to know anything about the boys either. But none of them are spared puberty during a summer. The cool Andy manages to approach Selma and Selma is interested in a mysterious Swedish student who suddenly shows up. Selma finally has to admit her feelings for him and Andy.

background

The film addresses the awakening sexuality of several girls and boys. Julia Krohn, cast from 2000 girls for the role of the melancholic and self-confident Selma, constantly distinguishes herself from love in off-monologues and dialogues, but already develops feelings for the opposite sex, which the viewer can easily see through. The cinematic representation of early adolescent behavior and thinking was praised for its realism and recommended for use in school lessons by the Federal Association of Youth and Film .

Reviews

»The bizarre joke arises from the contradictions between Selma's thoughts and what can be seen. Sometimes the adults in the relationship clinic seem a little too excited, but that hardly matters, because of all catastrophes, love remains the greatest and best. Sensitive and humorous. «Manfred Hobsch, Der Tagesspiegel , Berlin, February 8, 2007

"A largely enchanting and light-footed adolescent comedy with wonderfully crazy characters and a whole flood of snotty and fresh dialogues ... This hearty and cuddly film [gives] a lot of joy - and is a shame for young viewers alone." Oliver Reinhard, Sächsische Zeitung , Dresden, February 8, 2007
