Rudolf Retty

Rudolf Retty (born February 20, 1845 in Lübeck , † 1913 in Leipzig ) was a German actor and director .

Retty became a heroic actor and took engagements in numerous cities. From 1894 to 1903 he worked at the Deutsches Volkstheater in Vienna and then moved to Leipzig. There he worked as a game director and actor.

Retty was the son of Adolf Retty , who was also active at times as an actor , and he was the father of the actress Rosa Albach-Retty , whose son was Wolf Albach-Retty . Rudolf Retty was thus Romy Schneider's great-grandfather .
