Eva Maria Meineke , also known as Eva-Maria Meinecke , Evy Maria Meineke or Eva-Maria Meineke-Angermeyer , (born October 8, 1923 in Berlin ; † May 7, 2018 in Mallorca ) was a German stage and film actress .

Life

After attending commercial school, she completed an acting training. Meineke first appeared on the stage floor in Gerhart Hauptmann's Der Biberpelz at the Berlin State Theater in 1943 under the direction of Gustaf Gründgens . Although she was best known for her film and television roles, she appeared again and again in the theater, such as in 1967 in the Little Comedy Munich in The Much Beloved Herr Brotonneau . She also played cabaret and performed numerous radio play roles after the war .

Eva Maria Meineke had her first film appearance in 1942 in a small role, but until 1948 she was also seen in leading roles. To date, she has played in around 100 films and TV productions, albeit mostly important supporting roles , such as Lilly Mautner in the multi-award-winning film Das Haus in der Karpfengasse (1965) with Edith Schultze-Westrum , Jana Brejchová , Wolfgang Kieling and Helmut Schmid .

She became internationally known mainly for Alexander Kluge's drama Farewell to Yesterday (1966); after that she was hired for foreign film projects more often, so that she worked alongside Richard Widmark , Christopher Lee , Hans-Christian Blech , Romy Schneider and Max von Sydow (1978), Jeff Bridges (1980) and Marcello Mastroianni (1982) played.

From the mid-1950s she was a sought-after actress on television. Here she played under such well-known directors as Rainer Erler , Rolf von Sydow and Claus Peter Witt . She was very often seen in the crime series Derrick , Der Alte and Tatort . Her last appearances were in the thriller Hot and Cold (1997), based on a novel by Petra Hammesfahr , in the drama Im Licht des Feuers according to Rosamunde Pilcher (2000) and in the tragic comedy The Blue and the Gray Days (also 2000) Inge Meysel .

Eva-Maria Meineke was married twice. First since 1943 with the Austrian actor Siegfried Breuer, who died in 1954, and later with the film producer Heinz Angermeyer .

Eva Maria Meineke died on May 7, 2018 at the age of 94 on Mallorca .
