My father, the monkey and I is an Austrian / German comedy film from 1971.

action

Rhino Sissi is from the Hellabrunn Zoo in Vienna Zoo brought to the "marriage" with the local rhino Franzl. Because things are not going well with the two of them, veterinarian Klaus Wolf travels to Vienna and meets the hitchhiker Biggi. This broke up her wealthy father, the building contractor Hansen, with 6,000 marks and claims to be friends with the pop star Michael Holm .

The behavior researcher Prof. Dr. Felix Grimm arrived in Vienna with his monkey Jimmy, who suffers from a mysterious illness. During Holm's appearance on television, Biggi's father discovers his daughter and travels to Vienna with his girlfriend Ruth. Since Dr. Wolf had borrowed Prof. Grimm's car and Biggi, who had meanwhile been wanted by the police, was seen in this car, Grimm's private secretary Karin suspects the professor of having an affair with Biggi.

At the hotel, the monkey steals the jewelry from wealthy Mrs. Finch, and Biggi, who works as a maid here, is suspected of theft. For her part, she suspects Klaus of having an affair with Mrs. Finch. But everything dissolves in favor: Klaus and Biggi are getting married. The 6,000 marks were Biggi's own savings, and she now thinks her future mother-in-law Ruth is also quite nice. The monkey's enigmatic disease is based on alcohol consumption. The amorous chimpanzee only stole the jewelry to give it to a female monkey in the zoo, and of course the two rhinos Sissi and Franzl become a couple.
