Carlo Boehm

Carlo Böhm (born April 18, 1917 in Vienna ; † April 2, 1997 there ) was an Austrian actor .

Life

Initially, Böhm completed an apprenticeship at the commercial academy in Vienna , but then attended the acting seminar. From 1945 to 1950 he played at the Theater in der Josefstadt , in the cabaret Wiener Werkel , from 1950 to 1979 at the Vienna Volkstheater , at the Vienna Volksoper and furthermore in the Theater an der Josefstadt.

In addition to guest performances and radio productions, Böhm was also seen on television . His most famous role was probably that of the homeless Drballa in Helmut Zenker's television series Kottan . He also played in the legendary New Year's Eve episode of A true Viennese does not go under in one of its most famous scenes, Mundl's neighbor Mr. Gebauer, who shoots a rocket into the window.

Carlo Böhm was an older brother of the well-known Austrian actor Alfred Böhm and the younger of Franz Böheim (also an actor). Carlo Böhm found his final resting place in an honorary grave in the Hietzinger Friedhof (group 74, row 6, number 9) in Vienna.
