00Sex am Wolfgangsee , also spelled 00-Sex am Wolfgangsee or 00sex am Wolfgangsee , is an Austrian music film by Franz Antel from 1966 . On television it ran under the titles Happy-End at Wolfgangsee or Happy-End in St. Gilgen .

action

James Sander is the owner of the Hotel Excelsior in St. Gilgen . He is known as a playboy and regularly brings lovers into his hotel, which he always leaves in the same room. The hotel staff is used to women visiting, so Hilde Moll is also accommodated in James' reserved room and then driven to his villa. James, who is actually expecting his newest girlfriend Chicky, is puzzled. Hilde introduces herself to him as his new tax auditor, who should finally bring order to his financial affairs. Her boss Dr. Ewald Rabanus came to St. Gilgen and asked Hilde to keep him up to date. This in turn arouses the suspicion of hotel servant Pankraz, who is passionate about reading detective novels and suspects Rabanus to be a criminal.

A young band that the director has booked for the salon music has arrived at the hotel. They actually play rock and roll, but have to switch to shallower music given the clientele. The original line-up should also include drummer Peter Werner, whom they hired unknown. However, Peter breaks his arm shortly before the trip to St. Gilgen and so his sister Bibi jumps in for him - disguised as a young man.

From the beginning, the rest of the band believe that Bibi, who introduces herself as Peter, is a woman. Trumpeter Mike soon surprises Bibi in her hotel room without her boy wig, but Bibi pretends to be just Peter's sister. The remaining band members want to expose Bibi a few more times, but she is always one step ahead of them. This is particularly detrimental to Mike, who has long since fallen in love with Bibi. In the end, the band members send a letter to the real Peter and bring him to St. Gilgen. The men in the band dress up as women and Mike, dressed as a woman, announces that he will marry "Peter". Only when the real Peter comes to the group does Bibi take off her wig and identify herself as a woman.

James also has a problem with women without even realizing it. Hilde Moll fell in love with him. At the same time, James' tax burden is so high that only a bankruptcy of the hotel or a marriage and thus a downgrading to a lower tax bracket could remedy the situation. Hilde manages to convince James of her physical qualities in a bathing suit and without glasses. However, when she brings all of James' affairs to St. Gilgen so that he has a choice for the woman at his side, James explains with horror that he wants to remain a bachelor. Hilde confesses to Rabanus that she loves James, and he lets James' affairs report about it. In the end, James and Hilde get married. They'll soon be placed in the lowest tax bracket after becoming multiple parents in no time.

production

Sankt Gilgen am Wolfgangsee, the location of the film

00Sex am Wolfgangsee was filmed in Sankt Gilgen am Wolfgangsee and had its premiere in Vienna on October 21, 1966. Antel had previously made numerous other feature films in Sankt Gilgen.

The hiring of Waltraut Haas seemed to fail because she wanted to marry her long-time friend Erwin Strahl at that time. Antel solved the problem by organizing the wedding himself and including it in the film. The bridal couple, accompanied by four cameramen with a traditional costume band in their wake, marched through a trellis of hundreds of spectators through the whole town.

The film title is a reference to the spy films about James Bond , among others, which were widespread at the time. The unsuccessful and simple-minded "detective" Pankraz in the film is a reader of the James Bond books. At the same time, although the title of the film refers to the successful genre of sex films, “without being able to meet the expectations that it aroused in the audience in the slightest. Basically, it's a 1950s film in style and theme that has been revamped with a few contemporary allusions. "

Various songs can be heard in the film, including the title I think you are wonderful by Hans-Jürgen Bäumler . Bäumler's speaking voice, however, was dubbed by Klaus Kindler .

The film structures were designed by Ferry Windberger .

criticism

For the film service , 00Sex at Wolfgangsee was “undemanding, gaudy entertainment of hard to beat silliness.” Cinema called the film a “frivolous moth box farce”.

For Gertraud Steiner, the film had a “bourgeois, upright morality”: “The greatest chances of marriage are not with an interesting or seductive woman, but rather a rather homely type. And the wedding is still portrayed as a pipe dream and problem-solving tool for every woman. "

The Protestant film observer drew the following conclusion: “Undemanding entertainment film with girls and music, which pretends to be a parody of agent films, but instead of funny ideas only offers slapstick. Grandpa's cinema polished to a shine, so to speak. Only for people who have a weakness for figure skaters. "
