Erich Padalewski
Erich Padalewski (born April 8, 1930 in Vienna ; † February 24, 2018 ) was an Austrian actor .
Life
Padalewski attended the Max Reinhardt Seminar (together with Otto Schenk , Heinrich Schweiger , Michael Heltau , Johanna Matz and others) in Vienna until 1950 and then made his debut at a Viennese basement stage in a performance by André Gides Oedipus . He then played in Frankfurt am Main and at the Wetzlar Festival , where he played Sebastian in Was ihr wollt and Demetrius in A Midsummer Night's Dream .
He then returned to Vienna and played on theaters there. From 1960 he worked in films and played shy, somewhat strange lovers in supporting roles. In the mid-1960s he was discovered by director Franz Antel , who used him in this role in several of his sex comedies. He was active in this genre throughout the 1970s and occasionally took on leading roles such as in 1972 in love through the car door . In 1978 he got the double role of two dissimilar brothers in the Antel film Das Love-Hotel in Tirol . He was also involved in all four parts of Antels Bockerer films.
In addition to his numerous film and television productions ("Please leave your husband!"), He remained loyal to the theater and played at the Theater an der Wien , the Volksoper , the Simpl, the Theater in der Josefstadt and the Wiener Kammerspiele . Felix Dvorak brought him to the Berndorf City Theater in 1989 , where he played many major roles over the years (including the pastor in “Zwölfeläuten”). He also worked in various summer games a. a. in Berndorf , Forchtenstein , Mödling , Klosterneuburg , Stockerau , Bad Hall and Perchtoldsdorf . His roles ranged from comedian to tragedian, from cabaret artist to parodist.
Erich Padalewski had four daughters. His first wife was the actress Gretl Löwinger (1919–1973) with whom he had two children. In 1989 he married the acting colleague Elisabeth Schwarzbauer, whom he met at “Charley's Aunt”. The couple had a daughter together. The market town of Perchtoldsdorf, his place of residence for over 30 years, awarded the versatile actor Erich Padalewski the gold cultural medal for his commitment and life's work. For his many years of extraordinary services to art and culture in Austria, he was last awarded the Golden Decoration of Honor in 2001 for services to the federal state of Lower Austria and in 2006 the title of Professor .
Erich Padalewski died on February 24, 2018 and was buried in the Perchtoldsdorfer Friedhof (Quartier 19, Number 20).
