investment

The cemetery owned by the market town is located at Friedhofstrasse 3–5 in the south of Perchtoldsdorf. Vineyards separate it from the Vienna outer ring motorway , which is around 300 meters away . The layout of the cemetery is almost square. At the new part of the cemetery there is a forest cemetery and urn graves.

history

The Perchtoldsdorf cemetery was initially located around the parish church and was moved to the courtyard of Perchtoldsdorf Castle around 1586/1587 due to lack of space . The evangelical residents of Perchtoldsdorf were assigned a burial place in the so-called “butcher's garden” next to the castle.

The current cemetery was opened on November 1, 1877, the older one closed in 1883. The cemetery has been expanded several times since then. In 1930 Karl Harberger built the funeral hall. It was canceled in 1977. A new cemetery chapel was built from 1976 to 1977. In 1995 Perchtoldsdorf received an honorary award for exemplary cemetery design at the Lower Austria flower decoration competition.
