Alois Theodor Sonnleitner , actually Alois Tlučhoř (born April 25, 1869 in Daschitz near Pardubitz , Bohemia ; † June 2, 1939 in the Wilhelminenspital, Vienna ) was a Czech-Austrian pedagogue and writer.

Life

Tlučhoř comes from a Bohemian farming family. He spent his school days at the well-known high school in Melk . He studied philology and pedagogy in Vienna and completed his training with a doctorate to become a Dr. phil.

He practiced his profession at a public school in Vienna, initially as a subject teacher, later as the director of this school.

He was buried in an honorary grave at the Perchtoldsdorfer Friedhof (group 2B, number 32).

pseudonym

Tlučhoř chose his pseudonym Sonnleitner based on his residence "Auf der Sonnleite" in Perchtoldsdorf. In the book Die Höhlenkinder he also presents himself as their descendant.

Services

In addition to educational and socio-political writings, Tlučhoř published poems and fairy tales , but he became internationally known under his pseudonym A. Th. Sonnleitner with his trilogy The Cave Children .
