Ernst Wolfram Marboe

Ernst Wolfram Marboe (born August 10, 1938 in Vienna ; † January 12, 2012 there ) was an Austrian journalist , author , director and country, television and program director of the ORF .

Life

Ernst Wolfram Marboe was born to Ernst Marboe and his wife. His brother, four years his junior, is Peter Marboe , who later became ÖVP politician and Vienna City Councilor for Culture .

Ernst Wolfram Marboe attended Realgymnasium Schottenbastei and then completed a degree in directing and acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar and a degree in theater and German at the University of Vienna . During his studies he became a member of the student association KaV Bajuvaria in the ÖCV .

From 1971 Ernst Wolfram Marboe was head of the radio play and literature department at the ORF regional studio in Lower Austria. In 1976 he became the Lower Austrian regional director , in 1978 television director of the ORF television station FS 2 , and from 1984 to 1993 he was program director of the ORF. From April 13, 1996 to November 18, 2005, he held the position of President of the Austrian Association of Academics .

In 1985, based on his idea, he produced The Barometer Maker on the Magic Island as the first interactive television game , which he also directed himself.

From 2000 to 2007 he directed the Raimundspiele in Gutenstein . During these years only works by Ferdinand Raimund were performed. After the first performance of the entire dramatic work of Ferdinand Raimund ever, he resigned the management of the current Gutenstein Festival .

Marboe, who lived in Perchtoldsdorf for a long time , was buried in the cemetery there.
