Erwin Plevan

Erwin Plevan (born July 29, 1925 in Vienna ; † March 6, 2005 in Perchtoldsdorf ) was an Austrian architect who designed numerous church buildings in Vienna and Lower Austria in the second half of the 20th century .

Life

Erwin Plevan studied architecture at the Vienna University of Technology . In 1954 he became a consultant to the Archbishop's Building Office of the Archdiocese of Vienna . He held this office until 1988. In the area of ​​the archdiocese he designed numerous new churches since the 1950s. Plevan was also responsible for several structural redesigns of Roman Catholic church buildings from the point of view of the liturgical reform . His other work as an architect includes kindergartens, residential complexes, single-family houses and commercial buildings. Erwin Plevan was married. His grave is at the Perchtoldsdorf cemetery .
