The Süßenbrunn parish church is a Roman Catholic parish church on Süßenbrunner Platz in the Süßenbrunn part of the 22nd district of  Vienna, Donaustadt . It is consecrated to the Holy Trinity and belongs to the Wolkersdorf Dean's Office in the Vicariate Unter dem Manhartsberg of the Archdiocese of Vienna . The building is a listed building .

history

The chapel in Süßenbrunn Castle was used by the population from 1677 to 1809 . The municipal council of Süßenbrunn decided in 1835 to build a local chapel, which was built from 1837 to 1839 and consecrated in 1839 as a branch church of the Gerasdorf parish church . The chapel was elevated to a parish church in 1969 and demolished in 1978. Between 1978 and 1980 the new parish church was built according to the plans of Johann Hoffmann and Erwin Plevan and consecrated in 1980.

Building description

The free-standing church on the former village green is made up of three square rooms lined up diagonally under a common roof.

Furnishing

The altar wall bears a baroque body of Christ from the first half of the 18th century and a wooden figure of St. Florian around 1700. Madonna figure, tabernacle, stations of the cross and fountain in the vestibule are by the sculptor Hans Muhr . The organ was manufactured by the Rieger Orgelbau company.

In the weekday chapel there is a figure of the Mariazeller Madonna from the 17th century and a picture of the Trinity from the second quarter of the 18th century.
