The Breitenleer Parish Church of St. Anna is a Roman Catholic church in the Breitenlee district in Vienna's 22nd district of Donaustadt and is a listed building .

history

The church incorporated into the Schottenstift was built after the re-establishment of Breitenlee in the southeast corner of the estate complex from 1697 to 1699 under the Scottish abbot Sebastian Faber by the Gerasdorf master mason Gregor Mayer and consecrated on August 2, 1699. In the course of the Josephine reforms , it was elevated to a parish church in 1783.

Anna Church

The baroque church has a double tower front in the west, with the towers attached to the side of the nave. Above the rectangular portal is a cartouche framed by acanthus with Sebastian Faber's coat of arms. Above it, in a niche, is the stone figure of St. Peter from the end of the 17th century.

The high altar from the end of the 17th century, which was raised in 1899 and converted into a display wall, bears an altarpiece teaching Anna Maria reading by Josef Straka (1864–1946) from 1887. There is a Pieta from around 1420 to 1430. The pulpit and the wrought-iron grille on the organ parapet, both from the end of the 17th century, and the late Gothic baptismal font are also remarkable.

The organ by Franz Strommer is from 1903. There is a death bell from 1722 and bells from 1949 from the Pfundner bell foundry .
