The "Landquart Hierstetten" was partially dilapidated in 1713 and went to Prince Count Adam Franz von Schwarzenberg and was repaired from 1713 to 1728 by the architect Anton Erhard Martinelli . Next to the house, two halls with adjoining grottos were built on the left and right. Accommodation and stables were created for the servants as well as the coaches and horses. Furthermore, the hunting lodge was supplemented by a farm yard, a pleasure garden, a glass house (orangery) and three greenhouses.

A ceiling painting by Daniel Gran adorned the west hall of the palace. The total cost was 100,000 guilders. From 1728 to 1750 the property went to Johann Wilhelm Graf von Wurmbrand-Stuppach , at a price of 20,000 guilders and 200 species ducats , who had the building enlarged and a castle chapel added. The castle went to the aristocratic Erdödy family in 1799 and to Count Johann Ludwig Barth von Barthenheim from 1811 to 1815. After several changes of ownership in 1868 to the Pirquet family .
