history

In a document, the castle was taken over by Dietrich von Pillichsdorf as a permanent house together with the Prun (n) lordship . After wars with the Turks, the fortress house was deserted around 1529.

In the last quarter of the 16th century, Urban Sueß (Siess) repopulated and a castle was built, the place name Sueßen Brunn (Siessenprunn) being composed of the family name and the old rulership name. Around 1600 the castle was owned by the Barons von Landau, from 1622 owned by Losenstein, from 1660 owned by Auersperg , from 1667 owned by Grundemann, from 1802 owned by Freiherr von Walterskirchen, from 1813 owned by Count Kokorzowa, from 1816 owned by Baron von Bartenstein , owned by Dubsky von Trebomyslice in the 19th century, owned by the Bösch family around 1900 and owned by the Theresian Academy since 1926 . In 2008 the castle was acquired by Ludwig Reiter Schuhmanufaktur , which renovated the building and moved there in March 2011.

The castle building is formed by a two-storey U-shaped system under hipped roofs . There is a central central tower and a rear courtyard. It was built at the end of the 16th century. In the middle of the 19th century, the facade was redesigned in the early historical style and some of the interior was redesigned. There are pointed caps and barrel vaults or groin vaults from the construction period and stucco ceilings from the 17th century.

Outbuildings

The administration building is located in the north of the complex and was essentially built in the middle of the 18th century, and in the middle of the 19th century it was expanded and raised in terms of its history. The one to two-storey utility wing from the beginning of the 20th century has a core from the 18th century and a Stöckl from the second half of the 17th century. Next to it is a dovecote from the 20th century with neo-Gothic turrets and an iron weather vane and flag and named after the builder Bösch from 1905.

Bulk box

The baroque bulk box from the second third of the 17th century stands in the center of a large courtyard. It has a mighty volute gable with a tower-like porch of a former bell tower and inside open wooden tram ceilings over wooden posts.

Fountain

To the south of the palace there is a fountain with a water nymph by the sculptor and painter Viktor Tilgner around 1880.
