The branch church of St. Christophorus is on Breitenfurter Straße in the 23rd district of Liesing in the city of Vienna . The Roman Catholic branch church of the parish of Atzgersdorf , consecrated to St. Christopher , belongs to the City Deanery 23 of the Archdiocese of Vienna .

history

The church was built in 1960 according to the plans of the architect Erwin Plevan as an emergency church for the parish of Atzgersdorf. In 2001 the church was renovated at the suggestion of Auxiliary Bishop Helmut Krätzl under the dean and pastor Otto Novotny.

architecture

The church is located on the corner of Breitenfurter Straße 217 and Parttartgasse in a wooded area.

The rectangular building under a flat gable roof shows a bell carrier with a brick banding in front of Breitenfurter Straße, in a slot with two bells, on the front side is a metal cross. The behind glass pictures were created by the painter Walter Hovourek.

Furnishing

In the rectangular room under a flat ceiling there is a picture of St. Christophorus from the construction period.
