Kalksburg parish church
The Kalksburg parish church "Zum Heiligen Petrus in Ketten" is a Roman Catholic church in the Kalksburg district in the 23rd Viennese district of Liesing . Franz von Mack , owner of the Kalksburg estate, had the church built between 1793 and 1801.
history
The previous building of the parish church Kalksburg was a chapel, which was raised to local chaplaincy in 1783 and was therefore no longer looked after by the parish church Atzgersdorf . The independent parish Kalksburg has existed since 1805.
Artistic arrangement
The ceiling frescoes with depictions of the Last Judgment , the Last Supper and the creation come from Josef Keller . The high altar picture on the subject of the liberation of Peter from the prison of Herod Agrippa I was created by Hubert Maurer . The baroque painting Christ in Fetters is the work of Paul Troger . Since 1803 there is a copy of the statue of the Virgin Mary Magna Mater Austriae in the Mariazell basilica in the parish church of Kalksburg.
organ
The important organ from 1801 was built by the Viennese organ builder Anton Pfliegler . Apart from minor modifications and repairs, the organ has largely been preserved in its original condition.
