Franz Muxeneder

Franz Muxeneder (born October 19, 1920 in Salzburg , † January 3, 1988 in Munich ) was a Bavarian folk actor of Austrian origin.

Life

Muxeneder was a car mechanic, ski instructor and finance officer before he decided to become an actor. He made his debut shortly after the end of the war at the Salzburg State Theater , and in the late 1940s he performed at the Die Kleine Freiheit theater in Munich. From the 1950s onwards he concentrated on his film work, where he always embodied somewhat simple-minded and limited secondary characters, for example as a servant or soldier.

From the late 1940s he was seen alongside numerous well-known stars in countless homeland films and comedies, including the box office hit Drei Men im Schnee (1955), The Trapp Family (1956) and Münchhausen in Afrika (1958). In 1960 he played on the side of Heinz Rühmann in the classic The brave soldier Schwejk . When he was hired for the Munich Volkstheater in the same year , he already had fifteen years of professional experience and was now able to prove his talent in the comedy nobility. His role as "Lodengrün" in the children's radio play Sängerkrieg der Heidehasen by James Krüss will also not be forgotten . In 1966 he played in the Theater an der Wien .

Since the late 1960s, the “comedian for all films” has appeared in numerous erotic comedies, where he appeared in What is the mouse doing in the bathhouse? in a dual role as thief and pastor, was exceptionally leading actor. He played alongside Toni Sailer and Luis Trenker in the television series Luftsprge , in Klimbim he was temporarily part of the permanent staff, and he occasionally appeared in other TV series such as Königlich Bayerisches Amtsgericht and Meister Eder und seine Pumuckl .

Shortly before his death, he played the role of the frog in the operetta Die Fledermaus (director: Otto Schenk ) again in the 1986/87 season at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich .

After his death he was transferred to his hometown and laid to rest in the Salzburg municipal cemetery .
