action

Max Rettich, Gus, Bill, Pitt van Rees, Giorgio and Eddi together form the group Sonny Boys and are once again without engagement. They try in vain to hitchhike and are finally followed by the police. A group of young women hide them and the musicians follow them on a ship to Velden, where one of Max's uncle lives. On board the ship, the men make friends with Susi Güden, Evi, Sieglinde, Francis, Inez and Petzi, who have to spend their vacation at the Seeschlößl boarding school in Velden on the instructions of their parents . The musicians promise to visit the women.

Max 'uncle Herrmann Schmatzer, who was once called the “Lion of the Rhineland” as a boxer, runs a sports hotel in Velden. The musicians may temporarily stay in the hotel, but they have to take part in the sports exercises. Soon the whole hotel is laughing at the six young men and cook Edeltraut manages to use the musicians in the kitchen. In the meantime, Max has contacted Susi, Evi and the others. He learns that boarding school director Martha von Hahn forbids all men to visit and otherwise has a strict regime. Without further ado, the men invite themselves as aunts to the young women. Only Pitt, who is expected by Susi, is against the masquerade and stays in the hotel. The women prepare for the visit and steal her glasses from Martha von Hahn so that she does not notice the dizziness. Max, Gus, Bill, Giorgio and Eddi appear in women's clothes and with a wig and do their job well. Because a thunderstorm is falling in the evening, they are allowed to stay at the boarding school. When they secretly want to sneak into the women's rooms at night without disguise, they are surprised by sports teacher Inge Eckmann and hastily flee from the hotel. They don't want to stay at Herrmann Schmatzer's sports hotel either, because they want to make music. So they quarter in Liesl Busch's inn. They wash dishes and clean and are allowed to play music in the evening. Pitt writes Susi where they live now, and Susi breaks away from the boarding school and flees to Pitt. He in turn notifies Susi's father so that he knows where his daughter is. The musicians are booked by the fire brigade orchestra for a parade on the occasion of the syringe anniversary. A fire is reported upon arrival at the syringe house. In fact, the tent of the traveling dog circus owner Bruno Hatschek caught fire not far. The tent burns down completely thanks to the inability of the musicians, who now have to play fire department because they were wearing uniforms while playing. Max and the others promise to raise money for Hatschek.

They play at the Flower Parade in Velden and invite visitors to a special evening show. Martha von Hahn and the young women also appear here. Gus appears with a song, Bill follows and at the end Max, Gus, Bill, Giorgio and Eddi present themselves as disguised aunts with a song. Martha von Hahn is horrified, while Herrmann Schmatzer is amused. Meanwhile, Pitt has met Susi's father, who is grateful that Pitt has informed him. Susi, however, sees it as treason. She is unhappy, especially since she has fallen in love with Pitt and both are already thinking of marriage. Susi's father likes Pitt, but wants them both to give their love at least a year before considering marriage. Susi and Pitt agree and Susi's father is amused by Pit's colleagues who disguise their title as aunts. After the performance, the musicians say goodbye to their friends and promise to see each other again. And Max gives Hatschek the money he has collected, which will be enough for much more than a new tent.

criticism

“Since it is a German comedy, these aunts are of course men in disguise who can only penetrate a closely guarded girls' boarding school in this way. Otherwise tried and tested is copied. The story, already known by heart, in which a jobless band help themselves and a neglected restaurant to get back on their feet through jokes and slapstick, flat situation comedy and, according to the time, much too light music. Attempts have been made in vain to add some wit to the popular humor. A number of singing and comedian stars from Vivi Bach to Bill Ramsey and Trude Herr to Gunther Philipp can let off steam to their hearts' content around the Wörthersee. "

"[...] clothes with an abundance of randomly interspersed trivial hits. Only the lively opening credits and a parody of Gunther Philipps on 'Muscle Food' stand out from the mindless test tube jumble. "
