The craziest car in the world is a German film from 1975. It is the fourth of five films in the Dudu film series about a beetle of the same name .

action

Jimmy Bondi learns that the orphanage is in dire financial straits after he has put a railway line back into motion to please orphans raised by religious sisters. In order to raise the money that the nuns owe a hotelier, he starts with his wonder beetle Dudu in an Alpine rally in Switzerland. The price is 100,000 Swiss Francs.

However, two nuns manage to raise the entry fee. For the rally they use a special vehicle built by Jimmy Bondi, which consists of the front parts of two Citroën 2CVs , which are cut through at the B-pillar and connected at the back. If necessary, the vehicle can also be divided, as both halves each have a motor.

At the same time, the Marchese de la Pozzi will start, who - like the duo Brown and Brown he has engaged - does not shy away from unfair tricks in order to throw the rest of the field of drivers, but especially Dudu, out of the race. In between, Brown and Brown even manage to get Dudu under their control by overlaying the frequency on which Dudu is broadcasting.

In the end, the sisters are thrown out of the race a few kilometers from the finish, but Dudu takes both halves of the duck "under his arm" and drives them to the finish line, while Jimmy and Aldo have to run after them. Finally, a little push and the nuns roll over the finish line first, while the Marchese is disqualified.

Remarks

In the film, the VW Beetle can perform more tricks (pulling out of the parking space to the side, flying with helicopter attachments) with an improved computer under the trunk lid. Sal Borgese (again as Aldo Regozzani ) and Walter Roderer (again as Swiss, but as a different character) appear again. The action takes place before A Beetle on Extra Tour and is therefore a prequel to it. This becomes clear in the opening scenes of the two films. Bondi and Regozzani meet for the first time at the beginning of The Craziest Car in the World , while they already know each other at the beginning of A Beetle on Extra Tour . There are two versions of the film: one in which Dudu does not speak and one in which language and other scenes have been added while other scenes have been cut. The latter is on the released DVD.

In this film, Dudu has to work for the first time with another lead actor made of sheet metal. For the film, two Citroën 2CVs were cut through directly at the B-pillar. The front parts were provided with a rear wall and then connected rear to rear. As a result, the car has two steered axles, two motors and a reverse gear with three gears. If necessary, the halves are simply separated by folding down the support wheels and releasing two latches. On the other hand, you can also connect both vehicles in the direction of travel to use both engines.

Reviews

"Fluffy, unsafe conversation with pile-ups."
