A Beetle on Extra Tour is a German film from 1973. It is the third of five films in the Dudu series about a miracle beetle of the same name .
action
At the request of their friend Aldo Regozzani, Jimmy Bondi and his wonder beetle Dudu take part in a car stunt show in Liverpool , England . There they are betrayed by the organizer Ivan Leskovich, who takes the entire proceeds to Switzerland to buy a vintage car. Bondi, Regozzani, and Dudu embark on an eventful pursuit and eventually catch Leskovich. Besides that, Dudu thwarted a bank robbery.
background
The Beetle has the registration number DU-DU 926 for the first time, and the capabilities of the car are based on what “normal” Beetle drivers want: flying by jet propulsion, driving up between house walls, driving on stilts, autopilot . Sal Borgese (as racing driver Aldo Regozzani ) and Walter Roderer appear for the first time. The action takes place after the craziest car in the world and is therefore its continuation . This becomes clear in the opening scenes of the two films. Bondi and Regozzani meet for the first time at the beginning of The Craziest Car in the World , while they already know each other at the beginning of A Beetle on Extra Tour . Excerpts from the chase with the black limousine are also recycled in the fifth Dudu film Two great beetles clean up , while the excerpts from Lisbon were already used in the second part A Beetle gives full throttle .
As with the first Dudu film, A Beetle Goes All Out , optically different models are also used in this film. In this film, Dudu is actually a '72 Beetle with the large rear lights known as elephant feet. In some scenes, however, a beetle with the smaller oval taillights can suddenly be seen.
When filming on the Col du Pillon , winter broke in the summer of 1973.
criticism
The lexicon of international films describes the film as "a slapstick that only meets very modest entertainment requirements".
