and as a singer:

A vacation bed with 100 hp is a German travel and film amusement game filmed in 1964 by Wolfgang Becker . The couple Vivi Bach and Dietmar Schönherr play the main roles .

action

The holiday bed with 100 HP that gives the title is a chic, red amphibious vehicle with which you can cross calm waters if necessary. The Amphicar 770 (with real 38 HP) won during a vacation trip by bus from Austria to Yugoslavia, two young participants of a travel company in a raffle after the spirited blonde Birgit Steinberg borrowed the money for the winning lot from the smart sonny boy Hans Rothe. Since both had a share in the profit, they decide to continue the trip together and drive after the coach.

Later, the black-haired Doris Weimann, who is not necessarily averse to kissing Hans on a mild summer night, joins them, and the three of them experience numerous smaller adventures in a tranquil landscape. Hans and Birgit even spend a night together - still very chaste - in the small car. During this turbulent vacation, the two young people begin to fall in love. The harmless, cheerful travel events are enriched by pop performances by popular singers such as Gerhard Wendland, Rocco Granata and the only 16-year-old American Peggy March.

Production notes

A vacation bed with 100 hp was created in 1964 at several film locations in Austria and Yugoslavia . The film, produced by a small Baden company in Sandweier, was released in cinemas on February 26, 1965. On July 15, 1973, the television first broadcast took place in the afternoon program of the ARD .

The buildings were designed by Karl Schneider, the costumes Ingrid Zoré . Head cameraman Georg Bruckbauer then largely withdrew into private life. For the first German television chef, Clemens Wilmenrod , a former actor, this was also the last film activity.

Reviews

“A Munich travel company on vacation in Yugoslavia: There are reasons for all sorts of - albeit quite cheap - jokes and, how else should it be, love affairs. By winning a random raffle, Hans (Dietmar Schönherr) and Birgit (Vivi Bach) become joint owners of an amphibious car, with which they can then gondola after the tour company on water and on land. Jealousies about the second bed in the car (because the magic vehicle is also suitable for sleeping) lead to a failed visit to the fair and ultimately to a happy ending. "

- Hamburger Abendblatt from June 26, 1965

In Paimann's film lists it says: "The story, conceived according to the conventional scheme, is also prepared with offspring and a few celebrities, in a pleasant landscape ... and photographically passable."

The Lexicon of International Films judged: "Mixture of silly comedy and sentimentality."
