occupation

Zwei Bayern in Bonn is a German feature film from 1962 in the guise of a rough, Bavarian film swank. The title roles are played by Beppo Brem and Hans Fitz .

action

The story begins in the fictional, Upper Bavarian border town of Dipflingen an der Dipfe, in the shadow of the Obersalzberg in the immediate vicinity of the Austrian border. At the beginning of the 1960s, the world still seemed fine here until one day a Mercedes-Benz with a Bonn license plate appeared in the village. A rumor quickly spreads: a nuclear reactor is to be built in the village. This blueprint divides the church into two camps; into that of the mayor Vinzenz Kreithuber and that of the landlord Josef Prechtl. If one sees this as a chance for a new spirit of optimism in the town, the other sees the alleged Bonn plan as a great danger. A village dispute at its finest flares up, in which the opponents are quickly at odds. It doesn't help: Nothing exactly is known, and so the Bavarian backwoodsmen decide to go to the "sinful" Bonn to find out about the plans of the federal government.

Bonn, with its night bars and the half-naked women appearing there, is a single great temptation for the two provincials. In addition, they are not familiar with the pitfalls of politics and leave the authorities and ministries with the impression of absolute idiots. But things don't look any better in politics: the man responsible for the concerns of the two Bavarians in Bonn, the “atomic minister”, is a somewhat confused, old waffle who knows even less than the two simpletons. In the end everything turns out to be just a big misunderstanding: The man from Bonn was just the ministerial official, Government Councilor Dr. Bodo Blücher, who wandered around here and later even went amorous astray. After all, the change in the course of the Dipfe river is the only significant event that the Dipflinger can expect, because from now on they belong to Austria!

Reviews

In Films 1962/64 the following can be read: “Attempt a parody with the cheapest means. [...] An imposition in every respect. "

Paimann's film lists summed up: “This topic, which offers greater possibilities, remains in the tracks of the village agitation and lives from the personalities of the comedians involved. [...] Effect: Very amusing. "

In the lexicon of the international film it says: "Unusually carefree and style-free comedy of the 60s, in which neither parody nor joke functioned at the time of creation."
