Elke Arendt

Elke Arendt (also Elke Arendt-Orlac ; * 1939 ) is a German stage and film actress .

Life

In 1946 she received training at the children's ballet of the Bavarian State Opera and played children's roles in the theater and in film. After engagements as a stage actress, she was a very popular actress in various productions in the 1950s and 1960s , mainly feature films. She made her debut and at the same time one of her best-known roles in the 1955 fairy tale film Snow White , to which she owes a great deal of popularity.

After training to be an actor in Munich, she was back in a fairytale film a year later - this time Die Heinzelmännchen and also in the films Once Be a Great Lady , Rübezahl - Lord of the Mountains , Loved by Everyone , Hula-Hopp, Conny and Paprika . In the 1960s she starred in A Student Passed By , Crooks in Uniform , All Girls Dream of , Two Bavarians in Bonn , Fog Murderers or Love at Second Sight .

Theater engagements have taken her to the Volksbühne Berlin , the Staatstheater Kassel , the Schauspielhaus Bochum , the Staatstheater Darmstadt and the Bavarian State Theater , and she has also appeared in guest performances and tours. After marrying Stephan Orlac and the birth of her two children, she worked with her own productions in radio plays and at the theater. She was also active as a writer and director. Since 1966 she has only worked occasionally in front of the camera. She ended her acting career after 10 years. Today she lives withdrawn with her husband.

Her son is Sebastian Orlac .
