Rolf von Nauckhoff

Rolf von Nauckhoff (born May 15, 1909 in Stockholm , † June 25, 1968 in Munich ) was a Swedish actor .

Life

He took private acting lessons in the 1920s, attended the Kungliga Konsthögskolan in Stockholm and from 1933 to 1935 the Gothenburg Art Academy . In the first half of the 1930s he was an actor on the renowned stages of Gothenburg and Stockholm.

After a few film roles in Sweden, he came to Germany in 1938 and continued his career here. He married Maria Bernheim - actually Maria Herbot (1897–1957) - who had been the wife of Heinz Rühmann immediately before , presumably as part of a marriage of convenience. This marriage was supported by Rühmann, as this presumably enabled him on the one hand to secure foreign citizenship for his Jewish wife and on the other hand to dissolve the relationship that was harmful to his career in Nazi Germany. Nauckhoff appeared on stages in Vienna and Berlin and was able to resume his work in film in the 1950s after the interruption caused by the Second World War.

In German films, Rolf von Nauckhoff played mainly high-ranking personalities such as ministers, doctors, professors and other decision-makers in supporting roles. Until his death he continued to play intensively in the German cities, for example in Frankfurt am Main and Munich.
