action

The young Helga Gruber works as a stewardess, one of those eponymous “Girls without Borders”, for an airline. She is close friends with her colleague, the pilot Georg Hartmann. One day Helga meets the smart and handsome industrialist Eric Johnson. Both get to know each other on a plane trip to Athens and quickly fall in love. One day the urbane man even promises her marriage. But Johnson does not play with open cards: He has a wife who has been paralyzed since an accident and is also the father of one child.

One day that wife, Maria Johnson, is on board a flight from Cairo to Germany. A dramatic incident occurs when one of the engines catches fire in flight and threatens to crash. The plane can make an emergency landing and the healthy, ambulatory passengers manage to free themselves. Only the paralyzed Maria urgently needs help. Helga, who knows that she has her rival for Eric's favor, however, follows her duty and saves Maria. Now Eric also realizes that he belongs to wife and child. But Helga sees that she will not have a future with Johnson and returns to Georg.

criticism

In Filmdienst states: "The almost told love story between a married industrialist and a student who study their money as a stewardess. After an airplane accident, she rescues her friend's wife, who was also on board, and renounces her love. Routine entertainment in the style of the 50s. "
