Lucie English
Lucie Englisch (born February 8, 1902 in Leesdorf as Aloisia Paula Englisch , † October 12, 1965 in Erlangen ) was an Austrian actress .
Life
The daughter of the businessman Serious and his wife Theresa (nee Huemer) statierte even as a student at the City Theater of Baden near Vienna , where she started to Luisl called English and, in 1923, made his debut after completing her acting training at the secondary school in Vienna as an actress. Engagements at the Viennese theaters followed, from 1926 to 1928 she worked at the New Theater in Frankfurt am Main. From 1928 she played on various Berlin theaters.
In 1929 she also made her feature film debut. Numerous roles in film - and later on television - would follow, often starring in comedies in leading and buffo roles. She played alongside the Danish comedian couple Pat & Patachon ( Pat and Patachon in Paradise ) as well as in Bavarian comedies about Joe Stöckel and Beppo Brem (including Wildwest in Upper Bavaria , Zwei Bayern in St. Pauli , Zwei Bayern im Urwald ) and alongside Heinz Erhardt in The Last Pedestrian . She was also seen in home films from the 1950s such as Schwarzwaldmädel (with Sonja Ziemann ) and Hubertusjagd (with Willy Fritsch ).
Lucie Englisch was married to the dramaturge and director Heinrich Fuchs (1896–1961) and had a son, Peter Fuchs (* 1933). She died of liver disease on October 12, 1965.
She rests at the side of her husband in the Westerbuchberg cemetery on the Chiemsee.
