Mr. Haselgruber is a passionate official in a small Viennese district court. He also gives free legal advice in Ms. Pieringer's coffee house and lives with her best friend Ms. Hopfstangl. One day, however, the two women clash because of Berger, a marriage swindler. The process will take place in the district court in which Mr. Haselgruber works. He gets caught between the fronts, but then wins Mrs. Hopfstangl's heart.
