Hugo von Kaweczynski
Hugo Friedrich von Kaweczynski (born October 12, 1883 in Hamburg , † December 2, 1945 in Berlin ) was a German cameraman .
Life
After completing his commercial training, he worked as an accounting officer in Hanover . There he received flight lessons and became a pilot. From 1914 to 1917 he served as an aviator during the First World War. He later worked as a one-flyer and test pilot for the Rumpler -Werke in Johannisthal .
The end of 1921 he came as a camera assistant of Fritz Arno Wagner to the film. In this function and as a subordinate cameraman, he worked for various other cameramen in addition to Wagner. In 1928 he was responsible for the first time as co-chief cameraman. Often he was only responsible for the exterior shots, especially from moving trains and planes. In 1936 he was part of Leni Riefenstahl's large team of cameramen who were ready for her two-part Olympia . In the last few years before his death he was no longer able to work for health reasons.
