action

The housewife and mother Erika Seipold ( Inge Meysel ) is suddenly alone after 25 years of marriage when her husband Robert leaves her for another woman. During their marriage, she ran the household and raised their children, but never learned or practiced a profession. After the divorce, she not only falls into an emotional hole, but also has to deal with existential fears. She rarely finds help and understanding for her situation from her friends and acquaintances, and even from her adult children. Daughter Brigitte, friends of a married man, has little time for her mother and son Klaus, who has emigrated to Sweden, is married to a Swede and has two children, and sees more of his own problems than those of his mother. So Erika Seipold has to try alone to get back on her feet and get rid of the blemish of the seemingly useless member of society.
