Petra Hammesfahr (born May 10, 1951 in Titz ) is a German writer and screenwriter .

Life

Hammesfahr started to write early on, but was not supported in her ambitions from home. So she began an apprenticeship as a retail saleswoman at the age of 13.

Later attempts to succeed as an author fizzled out for a long time. She received more than 150 rejections from requested publishers.

In 1989, a short story by her appeared in the men's magazine Playboy for the first time . In 1991, Hammesfahr's first novel was published . She has been one of the most successful German crime novelists since the mid-1990s. She is married for the second time, has three children and lives in Kerpen in the Rhein-Erft district .
