Danny Huston (born May 14, 1962 in Rome ) is an American actor and film director .

Life

Huston is the son of director John Huston and the half-brother of actress Anjelica Huston . Both grandfather was the actor Walter Huston .

Huston made his first experiences in the film business as a director. He made his directorial debut in 1985 with the documentary Santa Claus: The Making of the Movie . Two years later he made his first feature film, In Search of Bigfoot . In 1988 he directed the movie Mr. North - Darling of the Gods , with Anthony Edwards and Robert Mitchum in the leading roles. Three more films followed by 1995, then he turned to acting that same year and took a very small role in the film Leaving Las Vegas . To this day he can mainly be seen in supporting roles. He had a leading role in Silver City (2004) by independent director John Sayles. He was shortly before also for the lead role in the series Police Report Los Angeles , in which he was to portray the character of Joe Friday known from radio and television series . However, after filming an episode, he left the project.

For his acting performance in the thriller The Eternal Gardener , Huston received the 2005 Satellite Award in the “Best Supporting Actor” category.

From 1989 to 1992, Huston was married to actress Virginia Madsen . In 2001 he married Katie Jane Evans, from this marriage comes his daughter Stella; the divorce was filed in 2006, but his wife committed suicide before the divorce could be pronounced.
