Ingram Micro Germany

Ingram Micro Distribution is Germany's largest ICT distributor based in Dornach near Munich . There are also branches in Braunschweig , Wallenhorst and Lippstadt . The logistics center is in Straubing and has a size of 80,000 m².

For a long time, the German subsidiary of the US group Ingram Micro was clearly behind Computer 2000 (now part of Tech Data), Macrotron and other distributors in terms of sales, before Macrotron was taken over in 1998 and for a short time also operated under Ingram Macrotron.

Macrotron was founded in Munich in 1972 and initially started developing, selling and maintaining innovative test and manufacturing systems for the electronics and semiconductor industries. In 1983, Macrotron Distribution for computers, peripherals and software was launched, which quickly developed into the division with the highest turnover. For a short time Tech Data had acquired the majority in Macrotron before Tech Data acquired the then larger Computer 2000 AG and in 1998 passed Macrotron on to Ingram Micro. Ingram Micro in Dornach is responsible for the Ingram Micro branches in Central and Eastern Europe, i. H. Austria, Switzerland and Hungary.
