Patrick William Cassidy (born January 4, 1962 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actor .
Life
Patrick William Cassidy is the son of two actors Shirley Jones and Jack Cassidy . His brother is the singer Shaun Cassidy and his half-brother is the singer David Cassidy . His niece Katie Cassidy is also an actress. Cassidy's first marriage lasted from 1987 to 1988, and since February 14, 1994 he has been married to the dancer Melissa Hurley, with whom he has two children, for the second time.
Cassidy made her debut in 1981 in the two television films Angel Dust Is Deadly and Victims at Midnight . In 1988 he was cast opposite Melora Hardin for the lead role in the television series Dirty Dancing . However, the series was discontinued after 13 episodes. In addition to the actors Dean Cain , Teri Hatcher , Richard Gant , Michael McKean , George Murdock and Rob LaBelle , Cassidy is the only one who appeared in the two super series Superman - The Adventures of Lois & Clark and Smallville .
