George Murdock

George Murdock , actually Jr. George R. Sawaya (born June 25, 1930 in Salina , Kansas - † April 30, 2012 in Burbank , California ) was an American actor .

Life

George Murdock attended Salina High School , where he graduated in 1948. He studied after his military service in the United States Navy at Wesleyan University and graduated in 1957. In his hometown, he worked as a bus driver for a while before moving to Los Angeles to establish himself as an actor. There he played theater and was later one of the co-founders of the Melrose Theater . From the early 1960s Murdock starred in several television series before he made his debut on screen in a small role in the drama The Language of Violence, directed by Hubert Cornfield .

In addition to the actors Dean Cain , Teri Hatcher , Patrick Cassidy , Michael McKean , Richard Gant and Rob LaBelle , Gant is the only one who appeared in the two superman series Superman - The Adventures of Lois & Clark and Smallville . He is also one of 24 actors to appear on both Doctor Who and the Star Trek franchise . In Star Trek, he played both God in the fifth movie Star Trek V: On the Edge of the Universe and Admiral JP Hanson in two episodes of the television series Starship Enterprise: The Next Century .

Murdock died on April 30, 2012 at the age of 81 at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center of complications from cancer . He left behind his wife and stepdaughter.
