Talon in the Fight against the Empire is an American fantasy film from 1982. The film is the directorial debut of Albert Pyun . The film opened in German cinemas on April 30, 1982.
content
The young Talon is the son of King Richard and had to attend his assassination on behalf of Cromwell. Cromwell now seizes power over the kingdom. Talon escapes and grows into a man. One day he can save Alana from being raped. She asks him to free her brother Mikah from Cromwell's hands. In the course of this rescue operation, Talon and Alana fall into the hands of Cromwell independently of one another. With the help of the warlock Xusia, once betrayed by Cromwell, Cromwell can be defeated.
Awards
Actor Richard Lynch received a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1983 . The film received nominations in five other categories.
criticism
The lexicon of international films wrote that the film was characterized by “unimaginative action dramaturgy” and that it had no “even remotely plausible story” to offer.

In 2010, Pyun directed a late sequel to the film, The Sword and the Sorcerer 2 . Lee Horsley is seen again in the role of Talon. Kevin Sorbo , Ralf Moeller and Michael Paré took on other roles .
